There are probably only so many different deckbuilders – introducing variety into the genre can be kind of difficult, especially when a game like Slay the Spire, one of our 30 best PC games, has players glued to the screen. But Banners of Ruin has found another interesting way to spruce up card-based battling, and we don’t mean the animals.
This game combined party-based RPG combat with deckbuilding, a party of six characters, each with their own abilities and thus cards. To cut to the chase – Banners of Ruin has a lot of cards, which is what you want. It’s also on the easier side, so if you like roguelike deck-building but the constant dying frustrates rather than challenges you, this could be your next game.
